Courtyard by Marriott Dallas DFW Airport North/Irving

I hate having to pay for parking when the room itself was $270. Parking at a hotel should be included. When we walked into our hotel room, an overwhelming smell of mildewy damp sour hit us. The room smelled dirty and gross. We got in late and were totally exhausted so we didn’t want to change rooms. We pulled our shoes off to get in bed, and my husband stepped in a giant wet sticky spot on the floor right next to the bed. It was absolutely disgusting. It was so sticky that he had to instantly hop in the shower and soap his feet. So nasty. A disappointing sub par experience. We always stay at Marriott as gold members and this room was unacceptable.

Got grounded in Dallas due to the weather and booked one of the last two rooms available. The staff was lovely, allowing me to check in early as I had nowhere to go. The shuttle to and from the airport took a huge amount of stress out of the equation. Very informative and accommodating. Fantastic job and I hope yo return some time on purpose.

The shuttle driver was breath of fresh air. Once I got to my Hotel the experience changed. I was met with attitude from the front desk. I called from my room later to inquire about how to log on to the Wi-Fi and was hung up on. No coffee was ready in the morning and Bistro never has anyone there. I will not stay at this hotel again. They need more training on customer service. The elevator was out most of my stay and walking up and down stairs with a bad knee is awful trying to tote a suitcase on stairs so not so good either. The only thing i experience that was good was the location and a pleasant shuttle driver. He was full of energy and had a great personality.

This is a tough review to give. I have mixed feeling about this hotel. The Good: The hotel is modern, rooms are spacious, front desk is courteous. Food at the bistro was awesome! We had Chimichurri steak, bistro burger and salmon. All three tasted awesome and the server in the evening (we arrived only 30 min before they close) was very kind and polite. The bad: The communication regarding shuttle from the airport. I contacted in the morning asking whether I need to reserve the shuttle. I got a chat back saying, no need. Just call us after you pick up your bag. When I reached DFW, I called the front desk asking when the shuttle will be and they said did I book it? Surprise surprise. All in all it would not have matter if i book it or not. The ugly: After waiting outside in cold for 30 min and watching all other hotel shuttle pass by (couple of other Marriott hotels, Aloft, Hilton, Hyatt, some motels, everything else but this one and some of them even twice), this shuttle finally came. It's only a 10 min drive or less but hold your horses. The shuttle did three more rounds within the airport to pick up more passengers before starting for the hotel. It took an hour and 15 min since landing. Verdict: Take an Uber unless you want a sightseeing of DFW! (Return Shuttle was easy and on time) Advice to Marriott: Please try not to save small amount of money to make bad reputation. This is a decent hotel. Why ruin its reputation by false advertisement. Just say 'no shuttle from the airport' or if you take the shuttle expect to up to hour and half!

We've stayed here a few times when flying out of Dallas. The location is great, close to DFW but also lots of shops and restaurants. Rooms are clean and updated and the lobby, gym, and pool area are nice. There is also a place to buy food, coffee, and drinks on site, which is convenient. They offer a free airport shuttle as well and paid parking for the airport. However just a note, since you are close to the airport, you can hear planes flying over pretty frequently. It doesn't bother us, but if you're really sensitive to noise it might bother you.

Unfortunately the WiFi is so horrible that I literally cannot get any work done unless I connect to my phone's mobile data... So that's a HUGE negative for me. Certain things I cannot do without Wi-Fi (such as uploading items to Google drive). So I was forced to leave my hotel just to finish up work at the end of the day. Definitely wouldn't recommend if you need WiFi. The rooms are alright, nothing fancy, but they did have a microwave which is nice 🙂

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, the hotel smelled when I initially entered the room. I had to request Lysol as I was uneasy if the room was properly cleaned. I was unable to rest as I could hear the guest in the floor above me. You can literally hear people walking above you on another floor in the hotel, the hotel is old and needs serious renovations. The bathrooms are old and you can tell they only replace the interior with wallpaper.
